It’s so hard to believe we’re saying goodbye to Karen.

She wasn’t just my sister Sharon’s friend – she’d been part of our lives for over 34 years. They had their daughters on exactly the same day, and from then on they shared so much of life together. Through all the happy times, and especially through the darkest of times after we lost our beautiful Sophie, Karen was always there. Her friendship, kindness and unwavering support meant more than she’ll ever know.

My heart breaks for all of Karen’s family. She absolutely adored them, and I can’t begin to imagine the huge hole she’s left in their lives. She was one of those genuinely kind people who always had time for others, and she’ll be missed more than words can say.

It feels especially meaningful to support this charity in Karen’s memory. It has such a personal connection to our family because of Sophie’s journey with the BRCA gene and the cancer that sadly took her from us. Knowing that Karen wanted donations to go towards helping other families facing similar battles is such a beautiful and selfless tribute to the caring person she was.

Sleep peacefully, Karen. Thank you for being such an incredible friend to Sharon and for always being there when it mattered most. You’ll always be remembered with love.

Love always,

Claire xx
