We have known Steve (and Sue) for over 54 years. We lived on the same walk and our children being of similar ages Sue and I took turns in taking the children to nursery and school, Steve whilst working shifts also took his turn doing the nursery and school runs.
We lived in a close knit community and on a Friday night the men would go for a walk to either the local pub or the Conservative Club but they never came home quietly.
Steve one New Year dressed up as Looby Lou complete with dress, rouged cheeks and blonde plaits while Jimmy went in a blue and white striped all in one suit as Andy Pandy, being the free spirits they were and for a laugh both decided to walk to the pub for a drink obviously it caused some laughs along with a few strange looks among the regulars.
Since Sue died Steve started doing some cooking (Sue’s tried and trusted recipes) and sending us photos of meals and deserts he had made when the family came for tea, he even sent us some tips on what to use to enhance our dishes.
Steve liked a joke and nearly every week sent us one liner jokes which made us smile but on several occasions made us really.
Thank you for yours and Sue’s friendship over the years. Friendship doesn’t disappear when someone dies it lives on in memories and hearts.
With very fond memories
