JohnSPENCERPassed away on October 30 at Turfcote Nursing Home, aged 91 years. He was a retiree and once served in the Metropolitan Police Force. He had a love for his church St James the Less Church in Rawtenstall and was a devout Roman Catholic. He also loved his pet Chows Sam and Casper. John played for many years in Goodshaw Brass Band in Crawshawbooth and was known for playing his tuba. Husband of the late Doreen, and father of the late Stephen, he leaves behind companion Joyce and granddaughter Danielle and goddaughter Hannah, brother Stephen and many, many friends.
A Requiem Mass will be held on Friday, November 17 at St James the Less RC Church at 11am, conducted by Father Simon Stamp. This will be followed by interment at Rawtenstall Cemetery at 12pm.
