In Loving Memory of Stella

It is with deep respect and fond memories that I honour the life of Stella, the beloved mother of my lifelong friend and brother-in-law, Paul. For over 50 years, I’ve shared countless moments of laughter, mischief, and camaraderie with Paul, and through those years, I came to know the quiet strength and warmth of his mother.

Though I didn’t know Stella as closely as some, her presence was always felt in the gentle, loving way she raised her family. I remember her as a woman of remarkable patience and mindfulness, never quick to anger, even when Paul and I were up to our usual childhood antics, like capped bolts (don’t ask) and shooting pellet guns up the tors where we lived as children. Her calm and level-headed nature created a home filled with love, where her children thrived under her care.

I also carry memories of her as the devoted wife of Bernie, a skilled decorator who brought beauty to many homes, including my own family’s when I was a child. Together, they built a life of hard work with kindness, and community that left a lasting impression on those around them. First the Bed and Breakfast and Decorating business then the Lambland shop and business who my sister, Kris and Paul and their Children continue to this day.

Stella’s legacy lives on in the love she gave her family and the gentle spirit she shared with the world. She will be deeply missed, but her warmth and grace will forever remain in our hearts.
With love and gratitude,

Nick & Elaine XX
