DawnSTANDLEYIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our much-loved Mother, Dawn Elizabeth Standley on June 14 after a short and unexpected illness.
Dawn was an amazing Mother and Grandmother who devoted her time, energy and love to all her family.
An art teacher for over two decades, she helped a range of people to be creative and express themselves.
Her passion for the arts and crafts ran into her retirement when she established 'Crafts North Wales' in Porthmadog, with her daughter Sarah -Jane.
Dawn leaves behind five loving children, Rhys, Sarah-Jane, Laura, Donna, Ben and four loving Grandchildren, Imogen, Emily, Sienna and Xanthe. Dawn was also mother-in-law to Leanne and Matt. Who she loved dearly.
Dawn was born on the 16th May 1953 to Matthew and Elizabeth Hanvey in Glasgow, and moved to Cwmbran at an early age and remained there for many years before moving to Newport, Shrewsbury and then to Blaenau Ffestiniog, where she resided for the last 20 years.
Dawn will be missed for her positive outlook on life and her philosophy of getting on with and making the best of things. She was resilient, determined, resourceful, funny, optimistic, loving and an inspiration to us all.
Rest easy Mum, we will never forget you and love you up to the sky and back again. Take the time you need now because we will see you again in the next life. Tell Nan to not overly cook the tatties and mince and tell Grampy to stop eyeing up the pudding!.
There will be an open service held at Bangor Crematorium for family and friends on Friday 28th June from 2.30pm to celebrate Dawn's life.
