MichaelSTANLEYWe wish to announce the death of Michael Stanley. Michael died on the 19th January 2021, in Histon, aged 94. He was born, educated and then worked in Cambridge, where he lived all his life. When he left school the Second World War was on. He followed his love of the sea and joined the Navy to carry out his war service, volunteering to train on submarines. Back in civvy street, work followed his other great love of cars and motorbikes, and 1966 saw the beginning of Buckingham & Stanley in High Street, Histon. Michael was much loved and will be sadly missed by his wife; his family in New Zealand; stepfamily in the UK; as well as friends and the people he worked with. There will be a service at the Cambridge Crematorium for family only on Thursday 18th February. We welcome you to join us via webcast. This will be followed by a Service of Remembrance when covid restrictions are lifted, at a date to be arranged, when everyone will be welcome.
