ArnoldSTARKIEMr Arnold Starkie sadly passed away aged 89 at Moorhead Care Home on Thursday, October 5.
He lived in Whiteash Lane, Oswaldtwistle, for most of his life. He leaves behind his brother Frank and his nieces, Linda, Deborah and Gail and their families.
As a young man, Arnold did his National Service in the Royal Artillery in Germany as a clerk. He then studied at Accrington & Rossendale College to become an engineer and went on to work for
British Gas for 40 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed his holidays with the family to Benidorm and Butlins. He also enjoyed swimming, playing dominos and socialising with his late brother Jack and his wife Marguerite at the Straits Club in Oswaldtwistle.
He will be sadly missed at family
parties which he loved.
A memorial service has been arranged by
Hyndburn Funeral Services which will be held at Accrington Crematorium on Friday, October 20 at 1.40pm.
