William RodneySTEAD(Billy) of Newline, Britannia Bacup, died peacefully at home on Saturday, 27th April, aged 74 years. He was born and bred in Britannia where he lived throughout his life and worked as a joiner at Rossendale Borough Council until his retirement. He enjoyed horse racing, trips out to the Yorkshire Dales and keeping and breeding canaries. He leaves his wife of 54 years Marjorie, sons Warren and Wayne, daughters-in-law Andrea and Lisa and grandchildren Jack, Thomas, George, Jonah, Saffron, Sadie and Mackenzie. A celebration of Billy's life will take place at Burnley Crematorium on Thursday 9th May at 11.20 a.m., followed by refreshments at the Rose & Bowl, Stacksteads.
