It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Nicky James Stedman, a beloved wife, soulmate and truly remarkable woman, who passed away on Friday 20th March, aged 65.

Nicky lived a life shaped by creativity, warmth and quiet determination. For many years, she built a distinguished career as a television and film location manager, her work leaving its mark on some of the most loved British productions of recent decades, including Doctor Who, Sherlock and Gavin & Stacey. Her profession took her far and wide, yet she always remained someone who understood the importance of home.

In later years, Nicky began a new chapter that many who knew her would recognise as entirely her own. During the Covid period, she started restoring and decorating period furniture and went on to launch Mo Mo Mazing. What began as a personal passion grew into something meaningful. Her eye for detail, her instinct for bringing beauty back into well-loved pieces, and her deep appreciation for craft and interior design earned her a reputation among designers and collectors across the country. She took real pride in knowing her work found its way into beautiful homes where it would be lived with and valued.

What stays with those who knew her is who she was. Thoughtful and generous, attentive to the people around her, with a spirit that was colourful, distinctive and entirely her own. Her loss is felt deeply. There is comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain.

Funeral arrangements:

Nicky's funeral will be held at Llandaff Cathedral on Tuesday 5th May at 1.30pm, followed by a celebration of her life at Insole Court. The committal will be private.

Guests are warmly invited to dress in a way that feels colourful, classic or relaxed, in keeping with Nicky's spirit. Those who wish to bring flowers are encouraged to let her well-known love of garden flowers to guide them.
