PhilipSTOREYPhilip Storey, aged 68, of Clayton Le Moors passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 21. A beloved husband of almost five decades to Janet Storey, Honorary Alderman of Hyndburn. A dearly loved father to Beth, Jennet, Katherine, Matthew and Daniel, loved father-in-law to Adrian, Andrew, Jon, Anna and Simone, a cherished grandfather to Katherine, Oliver, Joseph, Rhian, Bridie, Malachai and Niamh. Philip was born in Stacksteads and raised in Great Harwood. He joined the army at the age of 19 and served for 22 years, attaining the rank of Warrant Officer Class 1 in the Royal Army Ordnance Corps. He completed two tours of Northern Ireland, a tour with the United Nations in Cyprus and served in Operation Desert Storm during the 1st Gulf War. Philip served as the Mayor of Hyndburn’s Consort in 2005, supporting his wife Janet who was the Mayor of Hyndburn. Philip will be remembered with love. In keeping with current restrictions the funeral was a private service by invitation only. The service was streamed live for all those who could not attend.
