ThomasSTOTTof Fernhill Way, Stacksteads, died peacefully in the Royal Blackburn hospital on Friday, October 18, aged 75. Born in Stacksteads where he lived all of his life, Thomas was employed at Almonds Sewing Machines for 25 years, prior to starting his own business, Waterfoot Sewing Machines. He was a member of Bacup Golf Club for over 30 years and enjoyed fishing in his younger days. He played darts for the Royal Oak and the Farholme Tavern and enjoyed holidays in Majorca. He leaves his wife of 53 years Betty, daughter Jeanette, son Anthony, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brother William, nephews, nieces and many friends. A service was held at the Chapel of Rest on Friday, October 25, followed by interment in Bacup cemetery. Funeral director: Anthony Johnson Funeral Services Ltd, Bacup.
