ConstanceSTRONGMRS Constance Strong, of Major Street, Crawshawbooth, passed away on Saturday, March 7 at the Royal Blackburn Hospital, aged 72. Known as Connie, she was born in Rochdale, but lived most of her life in Crawshawbooth working at Ingham's Box Works, Newchurch Boot and Shoe Company and then as a care assistant at Middlegate, Ashlands and Porritt House care homes, finally retiring as a cleaner at St James' Medical Centre. She loved family and caring for family members and enjoyed cooking and baking. Wife of Philip, she was mother of Heath and Heidi, grandmother of Roxanne, Beccy and Ellie and great-grandmother of Oscar. The funeral was held on Wednesday, March 18, led by Neil Overton, at 9.30am at Fred Hamer, followed by a service at Burnley Crematorium at 10am. Donations if desired to Cancer Research. Funeral director: Dawn Winfield for Fred Hamer Funeral Service.
