RaymondSTUBBSRaymond Stubbs, much loved husband to Fiona, irreplaceable father to Mark and Chloe, caring brother to Geoffrey & Malcolm, and loving uncle to Janet, Dave, Emily and Melissa. Sadly passed away at his home in Bury on Tuesday 18th November 2024 surrounded by his family.

Ray will be sadly and fondly remembered by all who met and knew him, he was wonderfully sensitive, witty, caring and generous, and will be forever missed.

Due to Raymond's passion, enthusiasm and love for the arts, in particular enjoying live Blues music, the family would greatly appreciate any donations to Olympia Music Foundation - www.olympiasmusicfoundation.com. We chose this charity, as Ray always had a love for the arts, particularly music and the blues. Please Donate via the link below.

Ray was born in Manchester, in an era when you had to make the most of what you had. Opportunities didn't come along often, but when they did, you grabbed them with both hands.

Ray was a believer in charity and supporting others and giving younger generations better opportunities. We believe that the Olympias Music Foundation shares these same values, in providing free music lessons for children experiencing social and financial barriers in Manchester.

Working together as a community, the charity also works with families and institutions to provide exciting opportunities for children, introducing them to free music education with a vision to opening doors and their horizons, to enable understanding and connection. Their mission to prepare young people for an exciting musical future and to create a brave new generation of diverse young musicians and audiences in Manchester.

Ray will be so sadly and irreplaceably missed by his family and all that had the pleasure of knowing him.

His Funeral service will be held at Radcliffe Crematorium on Tuesday 10th December 2024 at 12.30pm (Family flowers only).

Ray was probably one of the most humble human beings I have ever known in my life. I still have the Alexis Korner cassettes on my desk which I was going give him when we next met up. I guess Ray will now have access to all the music ever created in heaven, for if ever there was one person worthy of entering such a hallowed place it would be him. I often talk about legendary performing musicians, but in truth none of them would exist without music lovers, fans & supporters who follow them through good times and bad times too. In my opinion Ray Stubbs was always there, a truly legendary ‘live’ music supporter who attended more live gigs than I could ever count! We will all miss Ray, but I’m sure we will all count our blessings that we were fortunate enough to have known him. Long may his spirit be among us until his soul finds its eternal resting place. I am so grateful for the time I got to spend with Ray and the fact that he was the best friend my dad could have wished for. We will miss him dearly but will always cherish the memories of the times he spent with us. He was always present at our family gatherings, gigs and celebrations as often as he could be. The most kind and unassuming friend. Giving thanks for Ray this day and always. Lots of love to Fiona, Chloe, Mark, Rob, Macy and all who loved him xxxx

Lovely Lovely man. One of the first charge nurses I worked with. Never saw him raise his voice to anyone. Always amazingly calm in any situation. Beautiful man, my thoughts are with Fiona and the family
