Eileen MaySTURGESSPassed away peacefully on Monday 16th October 2023, aged 91 years.

Dearly loved mother of Hazel, Roy and Lesley. A much loved granny, great granny, mother in law and sister.

A service will be held at Markeaton Crematorium (Main Chapel) on Monday 6th November at 12.30pm.

Family flowers only, donations in lieu can be made in Eileen's memory and will be given to Christian Aid.

Eileen will always be "Mrs Sturgess" to me :-) I studied violin with her from the age of 8 to 18 in the 70s/80s and because of her I'm still playing today. She was a kind and dedicated presence on the Derby music scene. My deepest condolences to her family.

Eileen was like a mum to me when I first started working in the music service, she offered guidance and support. I enjoyed playing many concerts with her, she was a very talented, loveable lady. RIP Eileen.
