RaymondSUMMERS(1931-2021) Ray Summers passed away peacefully at the Woodhall Park Nursing Home, Risley, England on Thursday, October 21st, 2021 at age 90. The only child of Mollie and Frank Summers, Ray grew up in Long Eaton, attended the Grammar school and did National Service in the RAF. A qualified accountant, Ray ran his own business in Stapleford for many years. Married to his loving wife Nona, who predeceased him in 2011, for over fifty years, they raised their two children, Lynette & Mark, in Breaston. Ray was a keen cyclist who also loved playing squash, vegetable gardening, nature, history and travel, regularly visiting his apartment in Tenerife for over twenty years. Ray was the founding president of the Long Eaton Lions Club & had been active in the Round Table and latterly the Probus Club . Through these organisations he did a great variety of charity work & fundraising. Ray is survived by Lynette and Mark, and grandchildren, Laura, Cameron and Philippe.
