We met Bernard as he was approaching retirement, we will be forever grateful for his servant heart, his dry sense of humour, his Bible knowledge and Jean and his unfailing help on our glass house nursery and his dogged determination to fix our cars when we’d lost all hope with them! We will miss his wonderful friendship and pray blessing for Jean and the family. Love Brian and Margaret Gray

Bernard was a lovely encourager to us (at least 20 years his junior ), when he joined a little group of friends in a bible study group in the late '70s. He was a friend solid as a rock and did not bat an eyelid when muggins here decided to merge two ancient Volvos into one and rolled up his sleeves and, in a borrowed barn at Boxworth End changed half an engine, and fitted an overdrive unit! He was, of course a very safe pair of hands, being in the bizz! The car lasted for many more years. Much love to Jean and family. from Phil and Viv
