Didn't really see much of you over the years Russell but you will always be remembered as one of the nicest, kindest real gentleman I've ever met. You will be so sadly missed by everyone who had the pleasure to have known you, but most of all your loving family who you were so very close to. Rest in peace now Russell with your mum and dad.

Russell came into my life when I married into the Talbot family. He was Godfather to our oldest son Ryan. He was always there for us and would bring a birthday card to the recipients house months in advance just to save on postage. He was funny and cared so much for his family. He left us way too soon. You were loved and will never be forgotten.

My dear uncle Russ.
One of the greatest men I've ever had the pleasure of knowing in my life. Sorry I can't be there in person. I will, however be there with you when you come back to Nottingham to be with your mum and dad again. My beautiful nanna and grandad who I miss dearly. Thank you for being the most amazing godfather to my Children and for everything you have done for them. They could not have wished for anything more. You were the back bone of the family, the life and soul of every party with the most incredible sense of humour imaginable. No one saw this coming and it has come to a massive shock to me. Christmas will never be the same again and I still can't believe I'm writing this. I love you uncle Russ. Cruelly taken from this world, way too soon. Absolutely everybody that knew you adored you and as devastated as we all are, your memory will always live on. Sleep tight uncle Russ. I still haven't come to terms with this but I will love you and cherish the amazing memories you've left with us.
Your loving niece, Rach. X

Uncle Russ,

You were always a tower of strength and support to myself and my family.

You were always there for me, whether a visit to Nottingham or the daily messages of advice and general chat. Your messages were always full of humour.

Your infectious personality, together with always being up for a laugh made time spent with you always such good fun!

We often shared photos of food (and sometimes the latest haul from the yellow sticker section!). We liked the updates of you enjoying your retirement and there always seemed to be a message that you’d won the raffle again at line dancing.

You inspired my love of learning languages from the age of around 10 - you’d be so proud to know that Jess is excelling at the start of her GCSE in Spanish (and has been put in the top set). I’ve always shared their progress over the years, which I know you were always proud to hear.

You once said…”Don’t tell Jess I feel quite proud of her, it will ruin my street cred!!”

I will miss our trips to Costa, a walk to the shops or simply a walk round the park to maximise some steps. I’ll also treasure the memories with you, Jess and Zac; such as getting a selfie of you and Zac having a picnic at the park while I was at work.

Thank you for being a special Uncle to the kids and it will come as no surprise that Zac used to refer to you as the ‘Dairy Milk Man’

I promised you a trip to the newly opened Hotel Chocolat café and you said we’d visit twice on your next visit after giving you the chocolates last Christmas. This visit wasn’t meant to be, so we’ll go and raise a hot chocolate or a milkshake to you!!

I was sad to be ill back in July, which meant we weren’t able to do the usual things, but lucky to have spent time with you chatting in the garden on that Sunday afternoon. This is now such a precious memory.

Thank you for all of the memories, holidays in Swansea. We loved the trips to the Mumbles, surfing at Caswell Bay and one of my favourites…ice-cream at Verdi’s!

Your decency, kindness and humour will stay with us forever.

Even though I miss you, you’re not too far away because my heart is full of memories, which I’ll treasure every day.

You were one in a million and I’m proud that you were my uncle. We miss you so much.
Xxxx
