Long days
The haunted glaze over my eyes has become an all too familiar sight.
It reflects the emptiness inside of me, my soul's plight.
There's total darkness now when everything was once bright.
How I long for the day you welcome me into your light.

My love hasn't gone, but now it resonates with a gnawing ache.
Never imagined this is how it feels when one's spirit will break.
There is nothing anymore that what's left of me can take.
I pray it's your face I see when from this nightmare I awake.

The haunted glaze in my eyes speaks of the loss of you,
An abyss tearing me apart, and there's nothing I can do.
I want to wake up and see that none of this was ever true
And I can look across the room at you.

From Heaven

Light a candle,
see it glow,
watch it dance,
when you feel low.
Think of me,
think of light,
I'll always be here,
day or night.
A candle flickers,
out of sight,
but in your heart,
I still burn bright.
Think not of sadness,
that I'm not near,
think of gladness,
and joyous cheer.
I have not left,
I am not gone,
I'm here to stay,
all time long.
So when you light a candle
and you see it glow
and you watch it dance
in your heart you'll know
that I would never leave you
even when you feel so blue
I'm sitting up here with the Lord
and now watching over you.

Heavenly Rose

I wonder, is there Valentine's Day in heaven?
For the one I love is there.
I would love to send her some flowers
To let her know how much I care.

I would like to say I love you
And hold her gently in my arms.
Just to make her smile once more,
Dear Lord, is all I ask.

So if flowers grow in heaven,
Lord, pick a rose for me.
Present it to the one I love,
Then kiss her tenderly.

Tell her how much I miss her
And in my heart she'll always stay.
She'll always be my Valentine.
Not even death can take that away.

As One

It's okay to miss you,
It's okay to cry.
Just know I'll never forget you.
This isn't a permanent goodbye.

Sometimes I sit and wonder
If you are standing by my side,
Giving me the courage
To carry on with pride.

I'll hold onto our memories,
Until this life is done.
In my heart is where I'll store them,
Where we can be as one.
