William ArthurTATTERSALL('Bill Tatt') It is with deep sadness that the Tattersall family of Spencer Street, Accrington announce Bill's passing, after a short illness, on Saturday 15th January 2022. Bill was the loving husband of Barbara for 57 years and the devoted father of Julie and Stuart, father-in-law to Shaun and Sarah, loving grandad to Jonathan, James and Harry, big brother to John and Len, brother-in-law to Maria and the late Joyce and uncle to his nieces and nephews. Bill attended Hyndburn Park School after which he completed his apprenticeship as an electrician at Howard and Bullough's. He then went on to do his National Service, spending 16 months in Cyprus, a country which he often visited later in life. On return, Bill continued to work at Howard and Bullough's and worked hard becoming an electrical design engineer. He was a well-respected member of the drawing office team and was highly thought of by his colleagues and the contacts he had, not only across the UK but worldwide. He continued to work for the company through the take-overs and changes retiring from employment in 1998 due to ill health. Bill loved walking locally around the Coppice and would often be accompanied by one of the many dogs he and Barbara took care of for others. He loved to meet different people and was always keen to help them in any way he could. He loved travelling with his wife Barbara and enjoyed numerous holidays all over the world. The funeral will take place on Thursday 3rd February 2022 at 11.40am at Accrington Crematorium. Close family flowers only, donations in remembrance of Bill for Hyndburn Stray Dogs in Need c/o Wolstenholme Funeral Directors.
