Only found out yesterday that John had passed away. Hadn`t seen him since 1975. Great times at Wheatsheaf and Cutty Wren. Did the Lyke Wake Walk with him and Pete Cowie, boy were they quick. A great man who guided me through my late teens. Very belated condolences to family and friends.

So very very sad to hear of John's passing. Another of the "Teesside Greats" to have left us recently for a better place. He will be in good company and good voice with his old mates now.

I have known John since I was a child and have great memories of his warmth, friendliness and of course his humour. A true gentleman who will be sorely missed. Rest in peace John. Huge condolences to Heather and family.
