BrianTAYLORMBE Passed away peacefully at Castlethorpe Nursing Home on 13th December 2020 aged 87 Devoted husband of the late Pam, dearly loved father of Stephen & Julie, loving father-in-law of Kate, much loved Grandad to Becky, Jonathan, Chris, Sian, James & Joe. Treasured Great-Grandad to Lewis, Liam & Amy. Dear Brother of the late Peter & Jean and a good friend to so many Brian was born in Scawby, attended Brigg Grammar School and throughout his life he served on the board of governors of several schools in the area and was an active member and President of the Briggensians Association. He has lived and worked in the local area all his life and with his calm determination he has always been committed to helping people and serving his local community Brian was a regular Church goer and was Treasurer, Church Warden and Sidesman. He also served as a Justice of the Peace for 27 yrs and he was an active member of the Freemasons for over 50 yrs. Brian was a founder member of Scunthorpe Heart 2 Heart Group, which was created to inform, and support people recovering from heart attacks and has since helped thousands of people since its formation in 1998 All this service to the local community culminated in Brian receiving an MBE from Prince Charles in 2011 Brian was one of life's true gentlemen and he was loved and respected by all who knew him Due to current restrictions, the service is by invitation only, and will be held at St Hybalds Church, Hibaldstow on Thursday 31st December 2020 at 11.30am prior to committal at Woodland Crematorium, Scunthorpe at 12.40pm Service will be streamed Contact details below The family would appreciate any special memories or photos of Brian you would like to share please email these to: briantaylormemories@gmail.com Family flowers only please, but donations if desired would be gratefully accepted to fund a defibrillator for the local community in Brian's memory Jason Threadgold Funeral Director 01724 865865
