Peter LyonTAYLORIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Lyon Taylor. After months of suffering Peter died peacefully at Springhill Hospice on 13th April 2024, aged 70 years. Beloved Husband of Viv, loving Father to James, Brother of Anthony, Brother-in-law to Ian & Helen and Uncle-in-law to Ruth, Joanna & Aaron. Peter was also the Senior Partner and the heart of AST Hampsons Solicitors as well as a friend to so many across his varied interests.

A celebration of Peter's life will take place at Bamford Chapel on Monday 20th May at 10.45am followed by lunch and a chance to share memories of Peter at Rochdale Golf Club. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to Springhill Hospice. All enquiries to Bridgefold Funeral Service, Tel 01706 639941

Peter has been a friend of the Speak family since the 1980’s. Firstly as a next-door neighbour and friend to Margaret and Gerald Speak. Then from 2010 onwards after the death of Gerald, Peter delivered a newspaper every morning to Margaret, checking in on her.
Margaret, now in her late 90’s took a great deal of reassurance from his brief but daily visits and the friendship and support he selflessly provided.
