ChrisTHACKERAYIt is with deep sadness to announce that on Tuesday, January 4, Chris aged 64, sadly passed away peacefully in the loving care of East Lancashire Hospice, with his family by his side. Chris was a dear son to May and the late Stuart, a dearly loved husband to Sharon, a much loved father to Louise and Jack, a dear brother to Cath and the late Stephen, a dear uncle to Chris and Joanne, brother-in-law to Peter, Lynne and Ian, and father-in-law to Zoe and Dan. Chris also leaves behind aunties, uncles and cousins and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. A hard-working man, after attending Holy Family School, Accrington, Chris at the age of 15 entered an apprenticeship as a vehicle mechanic and stayed in that trade until his death, with his final job being an HGV mechanic at Lynch Trucks Services, Altham. Chris had a great love of motorbikes - especially a Ducati, and his final bike, a Ducati Monster, was his pride and joy. He also had a passion for music, with an eclectic taste, and enjoyed walking his beloved dog, Spike. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 18, at 3pm at Accrington Crematorium. Family flowers only please; donations in memory of Chris, if desired to East Lancashire Hospice c/o funeral director Hyndburn Funeral Services, Accrington.
