FUNERAL EULOGY - Read by Neil Theasby
START: As one of Doreen’s four sons, I feel privileged to have this opportunity this afternoon to speak at her funeral service. But before I start, I just wish to say that anyone who isn’t coming to the East Riding Crematorium after this service is welcome to join us later for a drink at the New Inn from 3.30pm onwards…… You know that isn’t Doreen, our mum, our friend, our grandma, our mother-in-law, our auntie, our cousin in that box. It is just the body that she once lived in and the life that she lived was both long and full........

END....How can you sum up a life that was so full and lasted for eighty six years? You can’t. On behalf of her immediate family I would like to thank all of you who have gone to the trouble of coming to this church this afternoon. Mum would have been overwhelmed. Most of the happiest days of her life were lived in this village so it is fitting that we should say farewell to her here –

Doreen Seymour Theasby born 1921, died 2007. May we cherish her memory.
