Dr KeithTHOMASRetired GP Heathbridge House Surgery Kenfig Hill. Keith died aged 89 during a short illness at home with his children present. He had been very physically active till the end of his life. Born in Cardiff and brought up in Abertridwr, he was a good sportsman and had a schoolboy cap in rugby. Keith married Diana Godsell in Caerphilly in 1955. He became a GP in Pyle and Kenfig Hill in 1961 and retired age 70,his partners and the girls were like a family. Diana and Keith had a wonderful marriage and had 3 children and 5 grandchildren. Diana died in 2006. Although incomplete without her Keith found interest in writing and photography and fitness, he was very fond of his wild secret garden and planted everywhere! He was an active member of Probus and Cameo and the gym and enjoyed the conversations, company and activities. His patients continued to remember his caring and attention until the end. His children and grandchildren will miss his easy going generous spirited personality and his funny stories of valley life and medical school and most of all his love. Funeral 2.15 Tuesday 19th May 2020.

I should have noted that Keith had lung cancer and was also a member of a very active and supportive Cancer Club in Bridgend and he enjoyed his meetings and the friendship of all the people there . Keith had surgery for his cancer in August 2017 and recovered well returning to all his physical activities until forced to stop by the lock down .
