PaulaTHOMASPaula Lucille Thomas, age 89 of Broadstone, Poole, Dorset, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2020. Paula was born to the late Wilfred and Madoline Marshall on July 7, 1931 in Bloxwich, near Walsall, Staffs. After the war the family moved to the Lancashire resort of Morecombe where her father became general bus manager. Paula's first love was music. She was an enthusiastic member of Morecombe Girls Grammar School choir. After school she trained as a tracer but was also a keen member of The Morecombe Warblers dramatic society, often playing to packed houses of 2,000. It was at the Warblers she met Clifford Thomas. They married in 1953 and Clifford's government posts took them all over the UK. Shrewsbury, Richmond (Yorks) where they had their first two children, Martin (1961) and Madoline (1962). Then to Wokingham (Berks) and Denzil (1965). Alcester (Warks), Edinburgh, Cambridge, finally Broadstone, Dorset in 1979. Paula always maintained her love of music and the theatre and was active in choirs and amateur dramatics at every location. They were active Broadstone Players for many years. Paula was also a regular at Poole Arts Centre well into her 70's. Paula is survived by two children and two grandchildren. The funeral takes place at Bournemouth crem. on May 27th for family
