Mom, where do I start.
I’ve never been good with words or being soppy so I thought I’d share some of my favourite memories I have.
Growing up, she was one of the coolest moms and the hottest!
I had some of the best sleepovers where she would get involved and allowed me and my friends to… I best leave that one there.
Mom started out as a hairdresser and from the age of around 7 mom gave me my first perm, but it didn’t stop there, around 14 she bleeched me hair, only after my friend asking me why is your head steaming she realized she shouldn’t have covered it up! Hair breaking off she then covered my hair in Mayonnaise and made me sleep with pants on my head (apparently this would help).
Mom has always been full of colour, her wardrobe had a suit in every shade you could imagine, we would often come home after school and the paint would have been out and the walls would be a different colour… it was a running joke with my friends guessing what colour it would be next.
Moms love of shopping wore off on me at a very early age, to the point now where no one will come with me as I could shop for hours. Recently we found a shared love of a website called SHEIN… we would send each other what we had in our baskets shortly followed by oops I have another order on the way.
Mom has always been a grafter… never afraid to get her hands dirty and muck in. Even till her last moments she was making sure the wages were paid and everything was in hand.
I want to say thank you for everything you’ve done, how proud I am of you for what you have achieved here with Dave. The love you have shown the kids, the best holidays seeing Nanny Wales, the experiences and days out, not forgetting our favourite, playing on the fishing game in the arcade.
Although we knew this day would come, it doesn’t make it any easier. I hope you are now at peace (well having a whale of a party and no doubt a crafty cig with Nan).
We love you with all our hearts xxx
