IlltydTHOMASIlltyd Thomas aged 90 passed away at home, Crowmarsh Gifford Oxfordshire, on 14 July. Formerly of High Street and Church Street Rhymney he was a proud Welshman who lived life to the full.

Funeral service at Crowmarsh Church on Friday 23 August at 2.00pm. Donations to Cancer Research via illtydthomas.muchloved.com

Sorry to hear this. Illtyd had swimming lessons with me to help him achieve a very difficult swim in South Africa. During those lessons I realised I was teaching an extraordinary man who took part in all sorts of adventures. Over the years I would see him swimming at the pool, always determined to improve and showing us all we need to live our best life. RIP Illtyd.

Illtyd will always be remembered as a kind and gentle friend. A true Welshman to the core. Adventurous, funny, brave and determined. His many outstanding sporting achievements gained in the latter half of his life would outshine many a younger man. I'll never forget you Illt. Cariad Sally
