Paul made a huge impact on the lives of us all at Reindeer House, we often knew he'd arrived before we saw him when suddenly the gates were oiled, broken things were fixed, and the feed mix was full. For many years he gave up a fortnight in both Spring and Autumn to lend his skills to make our lives easier, initially guiding and delighting visitors onto the hill to visit the herd, then in latter years when the hill walk became difficult instead holding fort in our Paddocks. With his hat adorned with reindeer fur, and a pocket full of hoofy-doofy dust, he would entertain everyone with endless yarns. In the evenings there would be a warm welcome in Paul's caravan for fluffy ducks, whilst the birds were well catered for with ample seed feeders hung out from a branch, stashed carefully away between visits. His classic dessert offering at staff parties was meringues topped with chocolate and strawberries, the stalk carefully removed and presented on the fold out table from his caravan. At Christmas events within travelling distance from Stoke, Paul would be there, ready with a thermos and cupcakes to make sure the herders were catered for. What an incredible man Paul was, his impact on all of our lives will not be forgotten.

Paul was a very special friend. He served for 11 years as Treasurer of Eaton Park Residents Association having no experience as a Treasurer and did a splendid Job.

He also fetched the Christmas Tree for Eaton Parks Christmas celebrations erected it on his own at the Bellringer Pub and then decorated it with 2/3 of us helping him.

He also towed the Christmas Sleigh around the Estate for 2 nights no matter what the weather and a team of bucket collectors followed him around collecting money which we gave to Charities. Guess who counted the money, yes it was Paul.

He was a very good friend of mine and Pat (my wife) and he will be missed.

I was with him the day before he died, rest in peace mate you will be sorely missed
