Alfred JamesTHOMPSONTHOMPSON - ALFRED JAMES (Alf), May 20, 2020. Passed away peacefully with courage. Aged 92 years. Loving Husband of the late Audrey. Best Dad, Grandad and Great Grandad. A loyal friend who enriched the lives of all those around him. Our true hero in every sense of the word. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday 9th June 2020 at St Helens Crematorium at 1.30pm.

To Grandad, a big thank you for everything! Both yourself and Nan were wonderful to us all. You were my best friends and so much more! I feel immense privileged and honoured and I will cherish the many memories of time spent with such loving, caring grandparent.

Uncle Alf was always so kind, I remember him calling in after church to see Mum. More recently it was lovely to be able to share his 90th birthday. Our thoughts are with you Janice Hindley

Alf loved family get togethers he would sit there with his beer enjoying the chatter and laughter. He never said much but with audrey sue and gaynor it was difficult for him to get a word in edge ways. He loved to spend time with his grandsons and it was lovely to see their love and respect for him. As friends of Gaynor he always made us feel welcome and part of the family. Love and hugs to all his family our thoughts are with you at this difficult time
