Ethne GeorginaTHOMPSON(née Bridle) age 78 sadly passed on 16th February 2022 after battling a long illness. Her devoted daughter Sarah is devastated by the loss of her only family, ‘her Mummy’ they were very close, lived together and Sarah cared for her. Their cats, Binky and Tabatha are also grieving for their Nanny especially Binky as she was a ‘Nanny’s girl’ :( Ethne was an icon in Witney, Oxfordshire where she and her late husband Ted ran The Windrush Inn for 25 years and had the pleasure of hosting a dinner for The Beatles whom she loved and had ‘She Loves You’ played at her funeral. Ethne then went on to be a buyer of wheat at Healings Mill in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire for 15 years. Ethne then took over her daughter’s craft and haberdashery shop in Tewkesbury called Leisure Craft and took the cross-stitch business all over the country exhibiting at public craft shows like Olympia and Alexandra Palace, London, NEC Birmingham, GMex Manchester, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, 22 shows a year and Ethne absolutely loved it! Ethne then started her website with the help of her daughter and shipped her cross-stitch products all over the World! Ethne loved to travel on overseas adventures with her daughter during Christmas and New Year for her Birthday, where she would have so much fun and enjoyment, and sitting in the shade doing her crossword puzzles :) Ethne was a kind hearted, hard working, down to earth business lady, and a wonderful protector and role model to her daughter Sarah who is absolutely lost without her. A closed funeral service to be held at Cheltenham Crematorium on Wednesday 2nd March 2022 at 9.30am.
