Janet AnneTONERJanet Anne Toner, beloved wife, mother, sister and friend, sadly passed away on the 1st of February, aged 62. As in life, Janet was surrounded by the love of her family at home, as she peacefully took her last breath at home after a brave, and dignified, battle with Cancer. There are no words to capture the heartbreak that permeates beyond her family at the loss of our dear Jan and mum. Janet was a carer, nurturer, thoughtful beyond measure and the epitome of a mama bear. She is survived by her loving husband Patrick, two brothers Krikor and Richard and three children Michelle, Richard and Rebecca. We are blessed and grateful that she was ours; in this moment of great sorrow, we are comforted by the extraordinary impact that her kindness, compassion and capacity to love all had on everyone she connected with. Janet was born on the 15th of July, 1961 to Margaret and Kevork Didonian in London. Aged 6, the family was completed by the arrival of her twin brothers who she loved, mothered, guided and protected during their childhood in Cyprus and into adult life, even as their lives took them to different parts of the globe. Janet's unwavering nurturing of her family was reflected in her career; she always had a deeply engrained desire to help others. Janet returned to the U.K to study nursing and begun her career as a district nurse, working nights for over 30 years; she cared deeply and went above and beyond for all she cared for. Janet was still working in the community up until her diagnosis and felt such a sense of belonging and comradery with the sisters she worked with, building unbreakable bonds of friendship. Janet and Patrick were married on the 1st of February, 1989. For 35 years, they walked hand in hand, soulmates in their sense of adventure and love of their children. As a family, we grieve her early departure but are comforted by memories of her laughter, bravery, adventurous spirit and boundless devotion. There will be a memorial service held for Janet on the 26th of February at 10:15am in the Wenallt Chapel, Thornhill Crematorium. Jan, Mum - We love you so very much and will carry you always.
