My son and daughters always ask me if I went to”dad school “ when I fix things for them. My dad was the only teacher that I needed for those skills that have lasted me a lifetime. Thank you dad for everything

This is a tribute to my father. He passed away on the 9th September but left behind a great life time of memories. He grew up during the Second World War, in a time where people had very little in the way of luxuries. He did has National service in the REME, Dad had a career as an electrician with Newton’s, Fletcher & Stewart, and Derby City council. He had a brief job as with security driver. All his life he worked hard to give his family the life he believed they deserved, as all fathers do.
He gave us the best of upbringings which lead us all to the lives we now have. I owe him so much. All the times he was there for me. When I was young taking us to school, the holidays and teaching me a little of his electricians skills (changing plugs and lightbulbs).
As we got older he was still there for us when we needed advice or help. And as he grow older we were there for him. I will miss you Dad with all my heart and soul. You will be in my thoughts always.
I once said about you “a life well lived” and that is so true.
