TOWNSENDF.R.S.A. On 30th October 2013, John Richard, aged 83, passed away peacefully. An admired portrait artist who commissioned paintings for most of the chief citizens and business leaders of Nottinghamshire, the Midlands and Europe, with many paintings published, including the one of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II, which was presented to the city of Nottingham to mark the opening of the Nottingham Festival in 1970.
