Mark was a popular member of the Stoke south U3A local history group which I lead. We knew that Mark and Bernadette had moved to Wales, but we were shocked when we heard about his illness.

Four members of the local history group came to the funeral and it was good to see tributes from the fire service in the form of a fire engine parked outside the church with four firemen in work clothes and probably about eight more in dress uniform who came to the service.

Mark will be missed by many people and I pass my personal sympathy to all his family.
