Hi Alison and family,
I have recently moved house and went to call Sylvia today when I found her number in one of my old handbags. I was sad to read the news online of her passing last year and I can only imagine the gap she has left behind and how much you miss her every day.
I went on a Mediterranean cruise back in around 2016 where I met Sylvia at the sail away. She was stood confidently, looking really glam in her costume and wrap sarong! My husband and I started chatting to her and we hit it off straight away. Ever since that moment we spent most of our time with her. She sunbathed with us (mostly sat in the shade as it got so hot!) she spent many evenings with us eating dinner, watching shows and telling us all about her beloved Roy and how her family really, really, really took good care of her and how lucky she was to have them. She was so funny and such a joy to be around. She had a cracking sense of humour and she loved my husband, they use to have a right laugh together.
We are so grateful to have met her and we are so sad to hear she is no longer with you. Before I left the ship she gave me a ring to remember her. I have kept it safe ever since. She was extremely special.
I hope you do not mind me sending you this message, I just had to share how special she was and how we have often thought of her.
Take care,
Bryony & John x
