AnneTRICKETTIt is with much sadness that we announce the death of Anne Trickett (née Young), who passed away peacefully at home with her husband by her side on January 24, aged 80. A much-loved wife to George, mum to Catherine and mother-in-law to Shaun, Anne also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. After leaving St. Joseph's RC School, Anne worked at a variety of places, including Ingham’s Boxes, Graham’s Fruit and Veg and Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School, making many lifelong friends along the way. Prior to retirement, she ran ‘Anne’s Cattery’ for 20 years alongside husband George. She was very musically talented, playing the electric organ for her own entertainment, but also occasionally performing at events locally and teaching others to play. She loved animals of all shapes and sizes, and enjoyed going to the theatre and spending time with family. She will be remembered for her kind, caring nature and sense of humour. The funeral cortege will leave Knight & Boys Funeral Home in Stacksteads at 10am on Wednesday, February 12 and a funeral service will take place at Burnley Crematorium at 10.45am. The service will be led by Kathy Unsworth. Afterwards a celebration of her life is to be held at the Hare and Hounds, Stacksteads. Family flowers only please, donations to Dementia UK. Funeral director: Paul Swarbrick for Knight and Boys.
