DoreenTRIGGPassed away peacefully on Monday 4th December 2023. Aged 87 years, Doreen was a devoted wife to husband Brian for 67 wonderful years. She was a treasured mum to Carole and Andrew; and a nan and grand-nan to Daniel, Stephen, George, Tom, Jack, Olivia, William, Riley and Esme'.
Doreen, daughter of coalminer Arthur Mountford and wife Ellen (nee Swann), grew up in Smallthorne with much loved younger sister Ann (now Howell). She was an 'extremely competent' practice manager at Smallthorne Surgery (to quote one of the doctors), working there for 22 years. Gardening and flower arranging were her great joys, and she loved to travel, including visits to New York, St Petersburg and the Caribbean. With Brian, she was fortunate to have a set of great friends (known as the A team) that would meet every Wednesday at the Travellers Rest in Stanley.
Funeral Service to take place at Carmountside Crematorium on Thursday 28th December at 13:00.
No flowers please; Doreen expressed her wish for donations to be made to Cancer Research.
