Dear Helen and Alison, our thoughts are with you at this time. I have many memories of your Dad and Mum, making us welcome as children in the 60s and 70s, then again when I had my own family in the noughties. The garden was an oasis of calm, and the welcome always loving. I am not sure about the sell by date on some of your Dad’s beer though, but that’s another story.
I also had the pleasure in 2020 of documenting some of your Dad’s life, and finally understanding the Thorne family link to Plymouth, Devon, which given the rest of the Thornes all live within a 2 mile radius, Devon seemed like light years away. But annually we made the Tripp (😀), and holidays were had, memories made, family ties strengthened, field mushrooms eaten, and we loved it all……..apart from the A303 that is. Your Mum and Dad made that possible.
All our love. Phillip, Chrissy and Maddie.
I attach some pictures I have in the collection. Enjoy.
