KennethTRYNOThe funeral took place on Wednesday 31st January of Mr Kenneth Tryno, aged 78 of Stone, Staffordshire who died at Royal Stoke University Hospital.

On January 11th, 1945, in Alcumlow, Astbury, Congleton, Kenneth, affectionately known as Ken, came into the world, the second of five children born to William and Rose Ann Evans. His siblings were his sister Gwen, who sadly passed away at a young age, alongside his loving sisters Rosemarie, Ann, and his brother Dennis.

Raised in the Methodist faith, Ken first attended Asbury School before later going to Alsager High School. One can only assume that it was during this time that Ken began to shape his strong-minded assertive personality.

Ken had a work ethic which was evident from a young age; his earlier ventures, seeing him earning money by working at a butcher’s shop, and selling cockles and mussels in local pubs.

In his late teens, Ken was fortunate enough to meet and develop a deep love for Sylvia. Their love, it seemed, was destined, and she became his wife on June 6, 1964. Together, they built a life first in Leek Road, Hanley, where Sylvia worked in a bank, and then later in Stone.
Ken worked as a driver for Wincanton during this period.

Tragedy struck when Sylvia passed away on September 18, 1993, leading Ken to seek solace in Cornwall before returning to Friar’s Avenue, Stone. Still the devoted husband to Sylvia, he cared for his father-in-law and mother-in-law during this time.

Sylvia's death caused Ken to have a re-evaluation of his life, resulting in him embracing a newfound love for travel, and exploring the country in his campervan, a vehicle that became his second love. Whether camping in Lytham, or Cornwall, or embarking on one of his many trips to Cyprus, South Africa, and Kenya, Ken lived life to the fullest.

The Rev Jim Cartlidge conducted the service at St. Saviours Church Aston Stone where “Memory” by Elaine Paige was played entering the church.
The hymns “Morning Has Broken” and “ Jerusalem” were sung during the service.
Dancing On The Ceiling, by Lionel Ritchie was played for a time of reflection and You’ll Never Walk Alone by Gerry & The Pacemakers was played leaving the church.

Mourners were Mrs Rosemarie Proudlove (sister) , Mrs Ann Whalley (sister) Mr Steve Whalley ( brother-in-law).
Mr James Whalley (representing Miss Helen Davies), Mrs Charlotte Chatterton (representing Mr Andrew Chatterton), Mr Mark Proudlove, Mrs Julie Richards (representing Mr Colin Richards) nephews and nieces.
