Sadly I heard about Wilma's passing too late to attend the funeral. We met in 1973 and lived together in Bahrain. She was a delight to have as a friend and we remained close, visiting each other when we both lived in Spain. I was getting worried I hadn't had a reply to an email and although she told they had come back to Cheltenham I failed to find a way of contacting her once she arrived/moved. I was reminded of her last night, a Robert Redford film. She used to leave me notes telling me where she was 'in case Robert phones'! He was 'always coming round to take her out to dinner' but never when I was home of course! Much missed, I have only just come across this notice.

I met Wilma in 1977 or 78 when we worked at the Sharjah Port Authority, UAE. We were quite naughty girls, irreverent and fun loving. She was a brilliant office mate and true friend. We lost touch for many years. I tracked her down probably 4 or more years ago and planned to meet but never did. I googled her this evening as I’ll be visiting Spain soon and was curious to see if we could meet up, but sadly her obituary was the first thing I saw. Many condolences to John and her family and many friends. She was a darling.

Broken-hearted to hear of Wilma's passing! We saw Wilma and John when we visited Spain in October 2021 and we have a lovely photo to remember her by! Our family have known Wilma a very long time; first in the UK, then in Spain - she used to babysit my son and he's now 46! She was always a kind, caring, generous person! Our deepest condolences and thoughts go out to John and the whole family at this sad time!

Until we meet again Wilma; say HI to Gill
