Anthony HenryTUCKERKnown to his family and friends as Tony, died suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 61 at Derriford Hospital on 26th July 2020. Tony was well known in the North Devon community as the former Deputy Headteacher at Ilfracombe Academy. He retired in 2017, having loyally served the school and community of Ilfracombe for 17 years. He played an important role in the Senior Leadership Team and his calm presence, good humour and professional integrity were much valued. Tony was a passionate and inspiring teacher of Physics and the Sciences and worked tirelessly to ensure that he did his best for every student in his care. Tony taught in five different comprehensive schools in a career spanning 36 years. Tony leaves behind his mother and father Josephine and Harry, his two younger brothers Philip and Steven, his wife of 33 years Karen, his three children Rosie, Chris and Emily, as well as his beloved dog Reggie. A private funeral service will be held at North Devon Crematorium.
