Hope all is well up there Dave, I’m glad you’re no longer suffering with your physical health and can finally peacefully rest, I’ve known you since I can remember my first memories, you helped my mother strip the house I was brought up in and asked for nothing in return because that’s the type of gentleman you are. I’ll always remember you for the light hearted joker you are that has such a big heart, you genuinely never failed to crack a smile on my face even in my darker times when not many could get through to me, I’ll always remember you Dave, as you know I don’t drink but better believe I will raise a glass to you on Friday, much love mate, miss you already, I’ll try do my best to support Greg in the ways I can. It sounds like this wonderful family of yours is going to celebrate your life in style Pem...well deserved. You will be very much missed . I wish we had lived nearer to each other time has moved on so fast and we missed the important family thing sadly. I will always smile when I remember our phonecalls..always funny and you was always optimistic. God bless you duck..enjoy being with Mum and Dad..and give Iris a kiss for me. What is a stepdad? A stepdad is a man
Who steps up when your own dad isnt there
He tries his hardest to fit in
And show you how much he cares
He takes on all the roles of dad
Even though your not his own
And tries to fill the void
That's been left in the family home
He watches you grow up
And when needed lends a hand
Sits and talks when your upset
Because he understands
He makes sure he keeps in touch
With phone calls out of the blue
Because he knows you dont keep in contact
And he worries about you
I have so many memories
Of this man who came in to our lives
Who made his way in to our hearts
And made our mum his wife
You started off as stepdad
But you were promoted
You earnt the rank of my dad
And until you'd gone I didnt realise how much on you I doted
A big personality has left the room
Leaving behind a lonely chair
We're going to miss you so much dad
I hope it's all as good as they say up there.
