StuartTURNERIt is with great sadness I report that Stuart Harold Turner, the founder of Plasplugs, passed away peacefully on 5th January, aged 83 after a long illness. Stuart invented the first ever plastic wall plug that gave its name to the company he set up in Burton on Trent. The business grew to be a leading brand for plastic wall fixings in the UK, exporting to Europe and the USA with the manufacturing plant being based here in Burton. Spurred by the rapid growth of home ownership in the seventies and eighties the Plasplugs range grew to encompass a wide variety of DIY products. The company closed in 2013 and the Plasplugs brand continues to be prevalent today. Stuart leaves behind his devoted wife, Erica, to whom he had been married for 60 years. He was a much loved father to Alex and Neale and grandfather to Alistair, Oliver, Megan, Alicia, and Isabella. He will be sadly missed by all. A small ceremony will take place on the 1st February for close friends and family only.
