JohnTURNERJohn Turner, of Cherry Tree Way, Helmshore, passed away peacefully at home, aged 81. John was a time served joiner specialising in roof construction. He was very proud to have renovated the first two homes of his daughters. A keen fisherman, he was a committee member of Haslingden & District Fly Fishing Club. He loved the outdoors and field sports, and walking his many golden retrievers. As a young man, John was the drummer with The Dynamites and played regularly in and around the Valley. He leaves Dorothy, his loving wife of 55 years, daughters Kirsty and Shelley, sons-in-law Matthew and Christopher, grandchildren Jenna, Niamh, Haig, and Fraser, sister Denise, and brother-in-law Roger. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His funeral service will take place on Friday, November 12, at 1.40pm at Accrington Crematorium. Family flowers only; donations in lieu to the Alzheimer’s Society via funeral director Caroline Holden-Dewurst for Johnson, Durning & Woods, Haslingden.
