UNITY PERKINSRestaurant manager Unity Perkins died in a car crash on 22 September, 2008, the day after celebrating her 21st birthday with her twin brother Christian.Miss Perkins, from Hayle in Cornwall, was killed when her blue Rover Cabriolet was in collision with a Vauxhall Astra in Lelant as she returned to her new flat from Tesco at night. Her flatmate and travelling companion, Naomi Mitchell, was a passenger in the car and was treated for minor injuries at the Royal Cornwall Hospital at Treliske.Miss Perkins managed Pizza Patio restaurant in Hayle. Her brother Christian described his sister as "the best twin anyone could have asked for"."Unity brought so much happiness into my life – she was my sunshine, my best friend and role model," he said."I can't believe she has been taken away from me, and everyone else who was blessed to have her in their lives."She died the day after her birthday and, as her twin, I was lucky enough to share this beautiful day with her and all our amazing friends and family."Fiona Hutchison, who worked with Miss Perkins at Godrevy's National Trust car park, said: "I hugely admired her style... it's a hard uniform to make glamorous, but she did it."I don't think I ever saw her looking anything less than amazing but that was her outlook on life in general – an incredible ray of sunshine, who just seemed to brighten up everything around her."Beth Reeves, who lived with her during a snowboarding season in the French resort of Corchevel, said she had ‘never known anybody so alive’."I have learned it is physically impossible to think of Uno for more than 10 seconds without bursting out laughing," she said. "She always has, and always will, crack us up."Parents Caroline and Jonathan remembered "a truly beautiful girl; fearless, adventurous, compassionate and full of joy and happiness."Her younger brother Buster added: "Unity looked out for me, looked after me and always encouraged me – I shall love her forever."

My Daughter Unity was a very special person, she was brave, strong, determined and courageous. but she was also generous kind and considerate with a real sense of mischief and adventure. I will miss her so much.

Unity was always off on her travels.but the last 6 months she spent at home we were able to spend more time together. I am so grateful for that time.
Une was just moving into her new flat and about to spend her first night in her new home. I am so lucky that she chose to stay at home with us for as long as she did. Unity was a gift and I am so lucky to have been able to look after her and nurture her for the 21 years we had.

good bye my golden apricot angel.

What can i say, i would like to say that unity was my friend. she was beautiful and always smiling! i live next door to the pizza patio and used to see her every day. i worked for unity and naomi when they went on their travels and all i can say i was never as good at working at the pizza patio as unity was! i miss her and i miss going next door and having a chat about what we were going to do at the weekend. my thoughts are completely with her family and with her friends. you have to try and think of everything that made you love her and use that to make you enjoy your life to the best you can. lots of love steph ( next door) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

We didn't know Unity personally but when I saw her picture in the paper and read what had happened I was shocked and saddened.
Her smile and cheerful nature always made our meals at Pizza Patio enjoyable.
She was always smiling, always friendly and always managed to looked stunning!
It makes no sense that special people like this are taken from this world.....
My thoughts are with her family and all those lucky enough to have known her.

My thoughts are with the family at this very tragic time. Although I didn't know Unitiy well I was very shocked and sad to hear this devastating news. Whenever I saw Unity she always had a huge smile with tons of positive energy. My deepest sympathy to all that knew and loved her. God Bless. Love Anya x

My wife and I were shocked to learn about the passing away of Unity. We never personally knew her, but were served by her on many occasions at Pizza Patio and Godrevy Cafe and will always remember her smile and her asking 'what can I get for you guys?!'. To see a young life taken so tragically is simply a waste. Our condolences and thoughts are with her family. She will be sorely missed but will be heavens gain.
