PeterUSHERMr Peter Usher, of Colne, formerly of Bacup, died suddenly in the Royal Blackburn Hospital on Thursday, June 2, aged 62. A service will be held in the Chapel of Rest on Friday, June 17 at 10.45am, followed by cremation at Burnley Crematorium at 11.30am conducted by Mrs Jill Bolton. Peter was born in Bacup, moving to Burnley after his marriage and later moved to Colne, where he lived for 20 years. He was employed at Saffron Aircelle, Burnley, however he began work as an apprentice printer at Howard & Hargreaves and also had a spell working for Don O’Connor’s Printers. Peter enjoyed playing cricket, played for Bacup and Woodbank, and played as professional at Padiham where he retired from. He was also Captain for both Read and Baxenden. He also enjoyed football, playing for Blackwood Amateurs and the Weir Hotel, Bacup. He leaves his partner Susan, mother Annie, sons Elliot, Dominic and Lewis, grandchildren Romy, Maya and Edison, sisters Janet and Alyson, brothers Philip and David, nephews, nieces and many friends. Family flowers only; donations in lieu may be made to Ovarian Cancer Action c/o funeral director Anthony Johnson Funeral Services Ltd, Bacup.
