I remember Dick fondly. I didn't work with him closely but I found him an inspiration and reassuring presence. A real gentleman who set a great tone and example in the library service. Sending condolences to his family and work colleagues.

I worked with Dick for many years. We shared a similar world view. His sense of humour, knowledge and passion for books gave me great pleasure. He was one of the old school in the best possible way.I can still visualise his beautiful italic script. My condolences to his wife and family.Vale, amice.
