Esther LetiziaVICKEsther Letizia Vick née Fenz was born on 19 February 1930 in Florence, Italy and passed away peacefully on 26 December 2024 in Bournemouth, aged 94. Mrs. Vick came to Nottingham with her husband and young family in 1971 and lived in West Bridgford for 53 years. A mature student at the University of Nottingham, she graduated with a B.A. in Theology. She was a teacher at Player Comprehensive School, Bilborough, and Ellis Guilford School, Basford for a number of years. Her garden was always blooming and she delighted in sharing her plants. She loved classical music and attended many concerts at the Albert Hall and Royal Concert Hall. During her retirement, she cultivated this interest in music, attending a number of adult education classes on various composers. Esther also joined an adult education mycology group, gaining an insight into the fascinating world of fungi. A lifelong vegetarian, she shared her skills in vegetarian cookery in courses at South Notts College of Further Education and compiled a booklet of her favourite recipes, many of which have also become firm favourites within the extended family. In her later years, she enjoyed a regular weekend walk in Rushcliffe Country Park in Ruddington. Above all, Esther was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her marriage to Edward William Harry Vick spanned most of her adult life. The couple celebrated their Platinum Wedding anniversary in 2023 and went on to celebrate one last wedding anniversary at home in West Bridgford in January 2024 before moving to a home in Bournemouth.
In loving memory Edward, Olga and Eddie, Sonia, Leila and Julien, Eileen, Arnd and Marie
