JohnVIVIANJohn Vivian passed away peacefully aged 91 years on Monday 14th April at Ashton Care Home in Hinckley with his daughter Cathy at his side.

Beloved husband of Josephine, father of Tom, Ruth and Catherine, brother to Pam, Bill, Phil, Louis and Katharine.

John was a respected Veterinary Surgeon in Leicester for many years. He was also a chess player for Leicester University, and a champion squash player at New Parks. In his later years he enjoyed teaching Spanish.

A celebration of John's Life will be held at South Leicestershire Memorial Park and Crematorium in Countesthorpe on Thursday 8th May at 2pm.

Donations can be given in lieu of flowers to The Royal British Legion, which John supported all his adult life. Online and cash at the service.

Spanish Classes with John were different to any other teaching. He had an inimitable style, combining exactitude and humour. I still recall phrases from his cherished 1950s course books. We shared John's enduring love for Spain, empanadas and coffee. Thankyou John for all you taught us.
